BFI - SALZBURG - about the BFIThe BFI Salzburg is the second largest institution in further education in the Province of Salzburg. It promotes vocational training and is linked to the Chamber of Labour. Its main aim is to establish, preserve and improve the work-related opportunities of employees in Salzburg in the permanently changing labour market. BFI Salzburg considers itself as a partner of the employment service agency and part of the social system. The BFI offers programs/courses in business, EDP and Multimedia, technical professions, tourism, social and health professions, Second Educational Channel, and foreign languages. 6,000 participants take part in the 500 courses offered per year. BFI Salzburg is the only adult education facility in Austria which operates as fully recognised school for health and nursing in cooperation with many hospitals and care institutions for the elderly. The improvement of the IT-competence among Salzburg employees is a special concern, and intensive efforts are made in computer assisted self-learning, individual coaching and tele-learning. |
